Privacy Policy
Awdio does not collect, store or share any personal information. It has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us.
What stays on your device
Your audiobooks, library, listening positions, bookmarks, notes and listening statistics are stored on your iPhone or iPad. We never see them.
iCloud Sync
If you turn on iCloud Sync, your positions, bookmarks and listening history are stored in your private iCloud account, which only you can access. Audio files are not uploaded. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings.
What Awdio sends, and where
- Cover search: to suggest or find cover art, Awdio sends a book's title and author (or the text you type) to Apple's iTunes Search API and to Open Library. Nothing that identifies you is sent. You can turn off suggestions for new books in Settings.
- Free audiobooks: when you browse or search LibriVox, Awdio sends your search text to the Internet Archive (archive.org), which hosts the recordings, and downloads the books you choose from it.
- Media servers: if you add an Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin or Plex server, Awdio connects only to the server you enter. Your sign-in is kept in the keychain on your device. If progress sync is on, your listening position for books downloaded from that server is sent to it.
- Google Images: if you choose to search Google Images for a cover, it opens in Safari, outside Awdio, under Google's own privacy policy.
These services receive only what is needed to answer each request. Awdio does not send any of it to us.
Children
Awdio is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its effective date.
