Questions
How do I add my audiobooks?
- Copy your audiobook files to the Files app: iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, or a connected drive.
- In Awdio, tap + and choose Import a Folder (for a book made of many files, or a whole collection) or Import Files.
- Awdio reads the titles, authors, narrators, covers and chapters from the files.
Which formats does Awdio play?
M4B, M4A, MP3, AAC, FLAC, Ogg (Opus), WAV and AIFF, with chapters from the files, from CUE sheets, or from a folder of tracks. Awdio plays files without DRM only: it can't play Audible or Apple Books purchases.
Where do the free audiobooks come from?
Tap + and choose Free Audiobooks (LibriVox)…, or Get Free Audiobooks on an empty library. LibriVox recordings are read by volunteers and are in the public domain in the United States; copyright rules can differ where you live. The books are hosted by the Internet Archive and download straight to your device.
Can I download from my own media server?
Yes. In Settings, go to Media Servers and tap Add Server. Awdio works with Audiobookshelf, Jellyfin and Plex. Downloaded books keep their listening position in step with the server; you can turn that off in the same place.
How does iCloud Sync work?
Turn on Settings ▸ iCloud Sync to keep your place, bookmarks and listening history the same on your iPhone and iPad. Audio files stay on each device: import the same book on each, and Awdio matches them by title, author and length.
A book says its files are missing.
The files were moved, renamed or deleted in the Files app. Open the book and tap Locate Files…, then pick the folder or file where it is now. The book keeps its place, bookmarks and history.
How do I use the sleep timer?
In the player, tap the moon. Choose a time, the end of the chapter, or a time of night. The sound fades out at the end; shake your iPhone to add more time.
Is my data shared with anyone?
No. Awdio has no account, ads, analytics or tracking. See the privacy policy for the few things Awdio sends, and where.
